Our fiberglass planter line is constructed of polyester over fiberglass and each piece is handmade by highly skilled craftsmen.


The Process

Each planter shape starts with a ceramic mold of the exact size and dimensions of the final product.

                

Then fiberglass sheets are added and polyester is applied over the ceramic mold to create the actual mold that will be used in production.


                                            



Now that the mold is finished production can begin.

Fiberglass sheets are cut and inserted into the mold.







                              



Next, the polyester is applied over the fiberglass and the process is repeated numerous times depending on the size and shape of the planter.


                                        


After the polyester hardens, the planter can be removed from the mold for finishing. Each piece is hand trimmed of any excess material and then sanded down before being painted. (Translucent planters are made with the coloring being added to polyester before production.)

                                        

The difference between double walled and single walled planters is purely aesthetic. Most translucent planters are made in double walled construction so the planting material on the inside of the planter is not pressing up against the outer wall of the planter.
